One of my musical pleasures is playing ukulele. Whenever schedules at work allow, I enjoy playing with TRU Ukes (Three River Ukuleles), a group in Fort Wayne. You'll sometimes find me leading the jam or some of the songs, and I have fun arranging music to share with the group and playing a song for the open mic segment.

The first time I picked up a ukulele, I was in 5th grade, and we had a mini-course to learn some uke basics. I didn't touch another uke until about 2010 when FolkCraft included a ukulele workshop at one of their festivals. It was so much fun and felt so right that it took off on its own path very quickly.

TRU Ukes is a great group! Players of ANY level are welcome, and the emphasis is on having fun singing and playing with friends. It has helped push my playing skills into new areas... on all my instruments... and they are a truly important part of my musical family. 

If you want to join us, we play on the third Saturday of nearly every month, with a jam session at the Pizza Hut in Coventry Plaza, Fort Wayne, IN.
